Highlighting Our 2020 MRFKC Champions - Stephen Goebel

Next up on our list of 2020 MRFKC Champions is our defending Briggs & Stratton Masters Champ, Stephen Goebel. Stephen displayed great consistency last season on his was to the driver’s title in the class by a cool 86 points.

As we all wait patiently - well maybe a bit impatiently - for the Ontario lockdown to end, so we can go back to our favourite outdoor activity at the racetrack, here is what Stephen had to say about the upcoming 2021 season.

Q: What was your favourite moment or memory from the MRFKC 2020 season?

My highlight of the season was winning the MRFKC in Hamilton after struggling there the week before in the Dash For Cash race.

Q: What are your plans for karting in 2021? (i.e. who will you be racing with, and what are you looking forward to the most?)  

I am going to continue to continue to race with PRO and am looking forward to working with all the coaches and new teammates to become even stronger.
Q: What are your personal or team goals for the 2021 season?  

As a veteran of the sport it is always the goal to win races, and elevate your teammates to the best they can be.

Q: On another note, as motorsport gets into swing around the world what series (F1, NASCAR, IMSA, IndyCar, WEC, etc.) are you watching the most?     

I am enjoying F1 right now, watching all the new teammates push the No. 1 drivers is making the racing better than I’ve seen in a couple years.

I would like to thank Darryl and Curtis and all the staff and teammates at PRO for welcoming Helen and I to race with them. Here’s to a successful 2021 season. Let’s get racing!
