In anticipation of the 2021 Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship (MRFKC) season, we will be highlighting our 2020 champions and checking in on their plans for the fast approaching karting season!

Up first is our MRFKC 2020 ROK Junior Championship Winner, Daniel Ali. The two-stroke junior class was extremely competitive in 2020 with Ali taking the driver’s title by just a single point over second and third place rivals Frankie Esposito and Marco Filice, respectively.

Here’s what Daniel had to say when we asked him some questions!

Q: What was your favourite moment or memory from the MRFKC 2020 season?

I would say my favourite memory is winning the championship. The entire year was extremely close between many of the ROK junior drivers and it is incredible that only 1 point separated the top 3. it was extremely close but I am so happy I won.

Q: What are your plans for karting in 2021?

Next year I will be moving up to senior ROK and Briggs which will be a big step from junior. I will be racing with Racing Edge Motorsports as usual alongside my teammate (also my brother and Senior Briggs champion) Adam Ali. I am looking forward to fighting with some of the veteran drivers who have lots of experience. I hope to learn from them and apply that to this coming season as well as many more to come in the future.

Q: What are your personal or team goals for the 2021 season?

Personally, I would want to get top 5 in Ron Fellows for both ROK and Briggs.

Q: On another note, as motorsport starts to ramp up around the world what series (F1, NASCAR, IMSA, IndyCar, WEC, etc.) are you most looking forward to watching and why?

One series I am looking forward to is WEC. With the new regulations, there will be many changes at Le Mans and many of the other endurance races. As usual, I am looking forward to a new season of F1 and IMSA, and maybe we can watch the race from the kart track. Finally, I am also looking forward to watching the ROK and Rotax grand final as I feel I can learn a lot from those drivers and understand how to get to that level.

Q: Is there anything you would like to add or mention?

I would like to say thanks for hosting the Ron Fellows series and I can't wait for a new season of Karting.
