In anticipation of the 2021 Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship (MRFKC) season, we will be highlighting our 2020 champions and checking in on their plans for the fast approaching karting season!

Our first profile highlighted our 2020 ROK Junior Champion Daniel Ali, and up next is 2020 ROK Mini Champion Ryan Maxwell who had a dominant 2020 season with the Energy Kart team and is looking forward to stepping up into ROK Junior this coming season! Here’s what else Ryan had to say.

Q: What was your favourite moment or memory from the MRFKC 2020 season?

My favourite moment of the MRFKC 2020 season was the final race of the season at Mosport where I won and my teammate Jensen came second. An Energy Kart 1-2!

Q: What are your plans for karting in 2021? (i.e. who will you be racing with, and what are you looking forward to the most?)

I am looking forward to moving up to Junior ROK for the 2021 season. I think it will be a fun learning experience and I am very excited for the challenge. We are close to announcing the details of our team but can’t say anything just yet!

Q: What are your personal or team goals for the 2021 season?

My personal goal for the season is to finish in the top half of the field. ROK Junior will be very competitive and, hopefully, I can get to the podium by the end of the season.

Q: On another note, as motorsport starts to ramp up around the world what series (F1, NASCAR, IMSA, IndyCar, WEC, etc.) are you most looking forward to watching and why?

The series I am most looking forward to watching is IMSA because of their variety of classes and tracks.
